Playschool 1 and 2 are two classrooms that accommodate 12 children each and have 2 fully qualified staff members. Children in these rooms are aged 2 to 3 years of age. The classrooms have direct access to the outside area which has soft matting.
This is such an exciting time for children aged 2-3 years as their minds are absorbing every piece of information that they are exposed to. Their language, social and emotional sides of their personality are apparent as they form close attachments to their carers and friends. The classroom offers children more advanced learning and experiences preparing them for the next stage in their development.
In our Playschool rooms, there is an emphasis on arts and crafts, jigsaws, books, word games and learning from our trained carers. Children have regular rest and play periods with free play being promoted. Children work at their own pace and are encouraged to be comfortable with themselves. In our Playschool rooms, children’s personalities will develop along with their natural love of exploring and thinking.
During this time, your child’s carers will work with you to toilet train your child when you decide the time is right. Each day will bring some new experience for your child with the encouragement and care from our dedicated and loving staff. Parents will have peace of mind knowing that their child is being cared for in a loving, safe and stimulating environment
We maintain the highest hygiene standards in our classrooms and have daily and weekly cleaning schedules
We use an app called Childpaths to help communicate with parents. This app allows the staff in the room upload pictures and daily information like feeding and nappy changes to the child’s profile, that parents can log in and see during the day. For more information on the app, please click on the following link: https://childpaths.ie/faqs-for-parents/
To keep all the classrooms and children in our care safe, we operate a sickness and illness policy that states ‘If a child has suffered from vomiting, diarrhoea, fever or any other illness, she/he must not attend the crèche until the symptoms have ceased for 48 hours and normal eating habits have resumed’
