Conveniently located at Ballydowney, Killarney, Bellview Woods Childcare has provided the highest quality, flexible and affordable childcare for almost 20 years.

Bellview Woods Childcare is an award-winning Early Years Education Service. Based on the outskirts of Killarney in the scenic area of Fossa.

Catering for children aged 6 months to 12 years.

ECCE programmes and Full Day Care

Large Outdoor spaces including a Fairy Garden, Baby/Wobbler yard with padded matting, bikes and scooters, balls of all sizes and texture, football goalposts and basketball hoops to encourage outdoor learning and play

Services We Offer

Full Day Care

Catering for children aged 6 months to 12 years. 7.45am to 6 pm, Monday to Friday, 52 weeks of the year. Hot dinners and evening snack included. Sleeping facilities available.

ECCE Preschool

Government funded programme for children aged 2 years 8 months to 5 years. Learn through planned activities based on Aistear and Síolta based curriculums. 9am – 12pm, Monday – Friday. A team of over 40 qualified Early Years Educator’s

Afterschool

A safe space for Primary school children to play and learn. Meet new friends. Assistance with written homework. Collection from school to service available.

Naíonra Bellview Woods

ECCE setting based in Gaelscoil Faithleann for children between 2 years 8 months to 5 years. Focused on Irish speaking and understanding. Children of this age learn through play and this is done through the Irish language.

Naíonra Naomh Séamus

ECCE setting based in Gaelscoil Naomh Séamus, Douglas, Killorglin, for children between 2 years 8 months to 5 years. Focused on Irish speaking and understanding. Children of this age learn through play and this is done through the Irish language.

Our facility currently provides:

Baby Room

Our Baby Room is a bright spacious room that can accommodate up to 6 babies with 2 fully qualified staff

2 x Wobbler Rooms

Wobbler One is a large room that can cater for 15 children aged 12months to 2 years of age with 3 qualified staff members. Wobbler Two caters for 10 children aged 15 months to 2 years with 2 fully qualified staff members

2 x Playschool Rooms

Both Playschool 1 and Playschool 2 classrooms can accommodate 12 children with 2 fully qualified staff members in each room

6 x ECCE Rooms

Seomra Dearg, Seomra Buí, Seomra Gorm and Seomra Glas all accommodate 22 children with 2 qualified staff members in each room. These rooms are used for full time day care in the afternoons (after ECCE) with a ratio of 16 children to 2 qualified staff members

Afterschool

Capacity to accommodate 60 primary school children. Operating with a ratio of 12 children per qualified staff member. School collection to Bellview available from: St. Olivers Ballycasheen, Gaelscoil Faithleann, Fossa, Lissavigeen, Holy Cross Mercy and the Monastery

Bellview Woods also has 2 ECCE Naíonra’s. One based in Gaelscoil Faithleann in Killarney and the other in Gaelscoil Naomh Séamus in Killorglin

Childcare Funded Programmes

There are currently 2 Government funded childcare support schemes in operation for parents & families.

Childcare services enter into a contract with the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration & Youth to receive funding to deliver childcare through the support schemes.

Parents apply through the Childcare service of their choice to access one of the support schemes.

Early Childhood Care and Education Scheme (ECCE)

The Early Years Childhood Care & Education (ECCE) Scheme is a government funded initiative that provides up to 2 FREE academic years of preschool to children who have turned 2 years 8 months before the beginning of September of the upcoming academic year

The National Childcare Scheme (NCS)

The National Childcare Scheme (NCS) provides financial support to help with your childcare costs. There are two types of childcare subsidy for children aged between 24 weeks and 15 years of age: A universal subsidy which is not means tested and an income-assessed subsidy which is means tested.
